Sikandar - Garuda Mall, Commisariat Road, Bangalore
Garuda mall in Bangalore has a lot to offer the hungry man. The food court on the third floor, Sikandar on the fourth and Kobe's on the fifth.We visited Sikandar on the day they opened, but they were invitation only on that day. We returned a week later and it was bustling with people.
The décor is intended to be Persian. They have dim lights, and each table has a bowl of water with rose petals and a little oil lamp floating in it. The area is quite spacious, and they have several segregated areas for private parties.
Their menu does not have too many dishes, but they excel at what they serve. The chicken is extremely tender and tasty, but the servings aren't too large. The rotis are mostly standard fare, but their Ulta Tawa Ka Paratha is excellent. Each paratha is cut into four quarters, so calculate at one paratha for two persons. Definitely try out the various kebabs that they have to offer. They're all good.
Among the main courses that I'd recommend are Nalli Ghost Potli Masala and Haleem. Their afternoon buffet is also very good.
The overall experience at Sikandar was quite nice, the only thing that was left wanting at the time was the service, but I've found it vastly improved on future visits. When we first visited, the waiters repeatedly forgot to bring us the menu, then they forgot to take our order. They bumped into me a few times, and almost knocked me with a chair once. I'd put that down to them being new and inexperienced. They've definitely improved since then.
Sikandar serves alcohol too at standard restaurant prices.

Get to Bangalore Central on Residency Road, and take Commisariat Road (the one with ICICI bank on it) towards Lifestyle/Globus/Shopper's Stop/Garuda Mall. It's on the 4th floor of Garuda Mall.

We went there a day or two after they'd opened, so I'm guessing the bad service was part of growing pains.

Hi I've been to Sikandar couple of time and honestly ....Sikandar is one of the best resturant in Bangalore. Especially their starters - Tandoori chicken is mind blowing.
I alongwith my family of 3 visited legend of Sikander restaurant on 18 Apr 09 for Buffet Lunch at table no 41. As usual the waiter served starters and asked for choice of drinks , like lime, soft, fruit punch etc. Without mentioning that it is not a part of buffett lunch. When bill was served to my horror a fruit punch was charged Rs 150 each with buffet of 350 each. This is cheating and totally unfair.
Everyone should be cautious of such cheats. Managemnt should understand that such tactics will bring down the reputation of the restaurant.

We did visited this place 2 - 3 times but everytime we felt that thier quality is going down.
So I guess we won't visit it again.

We along with Family friend visited this place last saturday and got very bad experiance.
They offered us substandard table (make shift) in middle of corridor although we had reservation of table over a phone.
In response to our query , one manager (Fat guy who claimed he is owner) literaly used bad words arrogantly.
I guess Management should understand value of customer and should not treat customer like anythign granted.
Also I agree with other person that , they cheated to my friends also with such cheap tacticts.
Worst Place ...Management is not good at all..no proper service...
This very ordinary restaurant in the Garuda Mall has one of those menus that entices you with descriptions such as - A favourite dish in Pakistan, lovingly prepared by mothers in an iron tandoor, a fusion of wonderful spices etc... The reality is three very meagre pieces of not very well cooked chicken in a sauce which was gelatinous and insipid chicken soup from a can.
The highlight of the meal was when a HUGE brown RAT brazenly emerged from under the bench seat and leapt onto my friends knee. The useless waiter told us hed do something about it but I have serious doubts as to the sincerity of his intent. He then went on to ask us if we wanted a desert. NOT LIKELY!
